Final part of this mountain bike story from the Queyras: the snowy slopes of Risoul

Stage 5: Risoul
Risoul is a resort located just above Guillestre.
In summer, it offers mountain bike routes, and when autumn comes, these routes remain open to anyone who feels up to riding them.
With Manu Molle, we seized the opportunity of the first snowfall to go and see what the Risoul Dévale trail was like, trying to reach the Plan de Phazy hot springs.
A fun, varied route combining bike park-style sections with berms and jumps, and more natural parts as you get closer to the valley floor.

Let’s talk gear
The bike
For this trip, I used the Trek Fuel EXE 9.9, a beautifully specced light e-bike with connectivity features.
The dedicated app gives access to tyre and suspension pressures and lets you tune the motor and assistance modes.
It’s fitted with the TQ HPR50 motor, which delivers 50 Nm of torque. It’s paired with a 360 Wh battery and can be combined with a 160 Wh range extender.
Travel is 150 mm at the front and 140 mm at the rear.
The RSL cockpit (combo) and the Bontrager Line 30 mm wheels are carbon, and despite that I found them very forgiving and never uncomfortable.
It’s a true high-end mountain bike of a kind I’ve rarely had the chance to ride, and it blew me away because it matches my ideal vision of an e-MTB so closely.
To adapt it perfectly to my riding and feel a bit more at ease in steep, rough sections, I set the cockpit as high as possible with all the spacers underneath and fitted it with Michelin E Wild tyres.
